Dr. Bronner’s was founded in 1948 by Emanuel Bronner, a third-generation master soapmaker from a German-Jewish soapmaking family. He used the labels on his superb ecological soaps to spread his message that we must realize our transcendent unity across religious & ethnic divides: “We are All-One or None!” When we updated our liquid soap label at the beginning of 2025, we added a wonderful sketched image of our founder to honor the history behind our beloved Magic Soaps.

That said, we plan to leave the insides of our labels blank in future batches — as this hand-sketched image of Emanuel was a limited-run item for the first batch of our Magic Soap labels.
