Why is my soap not foaming?Updated 18 days ago
A nice, thick lather is appealing, but bubbles aren’t a sign of cleaning power, even though we’ve been trained to think otherwise. Realistically, they really don’t have any benefit. Lasting lather and bubbles are created by synthetic foaming agents. Since we don’t add these agents to our soaps, they won't produce the same copious, long-lasting bubbles made by a conventional body wash.
If you prefer to have your soaping foam, we encourage diluting your Pure-Castile Magic Soap with water at a 1:3 ratio and using a foaming pump dispenser. Foaming dispensers “thicken” the soap with water and air.
Suggested ratio example:
- 8 oz. bottle = 2 oz. soap and 6 oz. water
- 12 oz. bottle = 3 oz. soap and 9 oz. water
When diluting our soap, just keep in mind that its shelf life will be reduced to 2 weeks to one month. For this reason, it’s best to dilute only the amount you’ll use up in a couple of weeks. However, dilutions made with distilled water can last up to 6 months. Using distilled water can also reduce natural soap separation that may occur with hard water.
