Why does my Organic Sugar Soap separate in the bottle?Updated 10 days ago
Rest assured that it's completely normal for our sugar-based soaps (Organic Sugar Soap and Organic Shaving Soap) to separate a bit after sitting for a while, given the ingredients we use. This separation does not impact the efficacy, safety, or 3-year shelf life of your soap.
Since we use such a high amount of organic sucrose (sugar) in these products, it can fall out of the solution if not completely dissolved during production. Additionally, if the particle size of our organic shikakai powder is a bit too large, it can settle into the bottom of the bottle. As our products are made up of organic raw materials, this type of variability is expected and causes each batch of soap to be slightly different, much like wine. Each year has its own unique characteristics, and crops can vary season to season. We’ve come to embrace some level of variability as it showcases the behavior of natural agricultural ingredients. If you experience any separation in your bottle, you can easily correct it by periodically flipping it over to mix up the soap.
