Why does my Organic Shaving Soap have a dark brown color?Updated 10 days ago

Rest assured that the deep brown, caramel-like color of our Organic Shaving Soap is completely normal and actually comes from the large amounts of organic sucrose (sugar) and organic shikakai powder we use in our formulation. 

As you might imagine, organic sucrose naturally yields a color similar to caramel. On the other hand, organic shikakai comes from the seedpod of the small South Asian tree, Acacia concinna, and has been used in India for hundreds of years as a gentle conditioning cleanser for both skin and hair. Once it is ground up, its color and texture resemble those of ground cinnamon.
