Why does my Organic Lip Balm feel or look different?Updated a year ago
As our Organic Lip Balm is made up of organic raw materials, variability is expected and causes each batch of balm to be a bit different almost like wine. Each year has its own nuances, and crops can vary season by season.
This means that the oils and beeswax we use can be darker, lighter, and even have a slightly different color at times. These ingredients, along with our essential oils, can also smell stronger, lighter, sweeter, grassier, etc. Similarly, the taste and texture of our Lip Balms can vary too. All the raw materials used in our products have an impact on the overall finished good, which is very normal.
Additionally, if the balm (a combination of different fats with different melting points) melts and re-solidifies, these fatty acids will harden at different rates forming crystalline structures. Grittiness can occur as there is some slight variability in our natural ingredients from batch to batch. While our formula is designed to avoid grittiness, we have seen grittiness occasionally occur in our products if the product melts and re-solidifies. It is typically not something we can control in the manufacturing process as it appears only after fluctuating storage conditions post-purchase.
