What is the difference between Pure-Castile Liquid Soap & Organic Sugar Soap?Updated 10 days ago
Our Pure-Castile Liquid Soaps and Organic Sugar Soaps are equally effective and can be used in many of the same ways; however, they do have some key differences.
The biggest difference is that our Sugar Soap is specifically intended for use on the body, face, and hair. The first ingredient in our Sugar Soap is organic sucrose, which is a natural humectant that draws moisture into the skin and hair. As a result, our Sugar Soaps tend to be a bit more hydrating than our classic Pure-Castile Liquid Soaps. Our Sugar Soaps also contain shikakai powder, used in India for centuries as a gentle conditioner for skin and hair, making our them ideal for washing hair or dry skin.
On the other hand, our classic Pure-Castile Liquid Soaps are extremely versatile and can be used to clean dozens of different things: body, laundry, dishes, floors, pets, countertops, etc. You can check out Lisa Bronner’s amazing dilution guide for more direction.
One thing to keep in mind when diluting our Pure-Castille Soap is that they don't work well in regular pump dispensers. Instead, we recommend using a foaming pump dispenser and using a dilution ratio of 1 part soap to 3 parts water. From there, you can always make the solution more or less concentrated according to your preferences.
Although both soaps do an excellent job cleaning your body and hair, our Sugar Soap offers a more moisturizing experience, while our Pure-Castile Soap offers expansive versatility.
