What happens if your toothpaste is swallowed?Updated 19 days ago
While our toothpaste is safe and non-toxic, made with simple, organic ingredients, we don't recommend swallowing it. That said, we've formulated our toothpaste without any harsh synthetic ingredients, so if a tiny amount is swallowed by accident during brushing, it’s generally not harmful.
Children (Over 3 years old): It’s important to keep in mind that we only recommend using a grain-size amount of toothpaste (the size of a rice grain) for children (3 - 5 years old). We also strongly advise supervising younger children to ensure they use the correct amount of toothpaste and spit it out after brushing.
If the amount of toothpaste used for daily brushing is accidentally swallowed, we recommend drinking plenty of liquids to help flush the system. However, if an excess amount of toothpaste is accidentally ingested, we advise seeking medical attention or contacting your local poison control center.
