Sunflower Oil is prevalent in the diet of many cultures and is ideal in cooking because it withstands high cooking temperatures. Coconut oil and cocoa butter are both quite hard on their own. Sunflower oil, with its low melting point, offers a balance in texture so that the filling is smooth in our Smooth Coconut Praline, Cool Peppermint Cream, Creamy Mocha Latte, and Crunchy Hazelnut Butter in Oat Milk.
The other butter-filled bars don’t require sunflower oil because the hazelnut/almonds already provide this texture balance. Sunflower oil is always applied to the fillings so solid and whole nut bars do not contain any. Cool Peppermint contains the most sunflower oil by weight, followed by Mocha Latte, and Coconut Cream and Golden Milk Chai containing the least.
Dr. Bronner’s supplies this ingredient, from a non-GMO verified, organic source in Switzerland.
