The sucrose used in our Sugar and Shave soaps is sourced from Organic and Fair Trade non-GMO Cane Sugar grown in Brazil. Cane Sugar is considered a sucrose - which is made up of a glucose molecule and a fructose molecule. So essentially, Cane Sugar is 50% fructose. Sucrose (sugar) keeps the soaps from congealing and helps moisturize the skin. Sugar is also a humectant, which means it draws water into the skin and keeps your skin nourished, hydrated, and smooth. Sugar also functions as a natural exfoliant.
