Should I dilute the Pure-Castile Soap for face, body, or hand washing?Updated 2 months ago

You certainly can dilute our Pure-Castile Liquid Soap when using it as a body, face, or hand washing. However, we've found that the water present in the shower or bath does the diluting for you!

We understand there are reasons why you might want to predilute and recommend using a manual foaming pump dispenser. If you decide to use a foaming dispenser, make sure to dilute the soap at a ratio of 1 part soap to 3 parts water.

Suggested ratio example:

  • 8 oz. bottle = 2 oz. soap and 6 oz. water
  • 12 oz. bottle = 3 oz. soap and 9 oz. water

It is important to note that our Pure Castile Soaps are not compatible with regular pump dispensers or automatic dispensers.

When using a foaming dispenser, we recommend diluting a portion that will be used up within 2 weeks to a month, since we do not add any harsh preservatives in our products that will allow them to last longer than 1 month after being diluted. Additionally, we recommend using distilled water as hard water can cause natural soap separation. Diluting with tap or filtered water results in a shelf life of about 2 weeks to a month, while dilutions with distilled water can last up to 6 months. Using hard water such as tap water may cause natural soap separation which is normal.
