Olive oil is obtained from the ripe fruit of olea europaea and is a wonderful skin conditioning agent.

Dr. Bronner’s olive oil is sourced from smallholder, organic, fair trade suppliers in Palestine and Israel, including Canaan Fair Trade and Sindyanna, that are committed to farming in harmony with nature. The olives in our supply chains are harvested during the daytime and are picked mainly by hand using little to no equipment, or harvested with a shaking machine that causes the ripened olives to fall. The olive oil farmers in our supply chains do not harvest during the night and do not use methods that involve suction to remove olives from the tree.

Like all our raw materials, our olive oil meets our independent third-party cruelty-free standards set by Vegan Action and the Leaping Bunny Program. Vegan Action certifies that our vegan products do not contain any animal products or by-products, and that no animal products are used in the manufacturing process. Dr. Bronner’s products and ingredients are never tested on animals, so they qualify for the Leaping Bunny logo through the Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics’ (CCIC) Leaping Bunny Program.
