Is there THC in Dr. Bronner's products?Updated a month ago

What is THC?

Cannabinoids are a class of biochemicals naturally present in cannabis. Of the more than 100 cannabinoids identified so far, delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is the principal psychoactive constituent of cannabis.

Is THC present in hemp?

In industrial hemp, THC is present only in trace amounts in the flowers and leaves of the plant. The US Federal Government, under Section 7606 of the 2014 Farm Bill, defines industrial hemp as “Cannabis sativa L. and any part of such plant, whether growing or not, with a delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol concentration of not more than 0.3 percent on a dry weight basis.”

Is THC present in hemp seed oil?

Very small amounts of THC might be found in hemp seed oil, especially if a little resin from the flowers was left on the seeds when they were pressed. Our organic hemp seed oil is sourced from suppliers in the United States, who are required to provide a Certificate of Analysis (COA) confirming that each batch meets the legal THC limits in the US. We also test some of the raw materials ourselves to ensure the results are accurate. Based on our supplier COAs and independent lab tests, none of the oil we have received has shown THC levels above Dr. Bronner’s internal quality limit of 10 parts per million (ppm) or the US government’s limits.

Is THC present in Dr. Bronner’s products that contain hemp seed oil?

Even hemp seed oil pressed from thoroughly cleaned seeds of low-THC industrial hemp varieties may contain minuscule trace amounts of THC, typically not more than 10 ppm, or not more than 0.001%. Since hemp seed oil is used in Dr. Bronner’s soaps at less than 1%, any trace THC concentrations in our soap would not be greater than 0.00001%.
