This brownish, caramel color actually comes from the abundance of organic shikakai powder we use in the formulation. Shikakai powder is a natural humectant that has been used as a gentle conditioner for skin and hair in India for centuries. Shikakai originates from the seedpod of the small South Asian tree Acacia concinna. When ground into a powder, its color and texture resemble those of ground cinnamon.
