Does Dr. Bronner's All-One Toothpaste prevent cavities?Updated 21 days ago

It's best to think about our toothpaste as preventative care for your teeth and gums. To understand how our toothpaste prevents cavities, it's first important to understand how cavities are formed. Many factors contribute to the formation of cavities, but the most common are bacteria in the mouth, frequent snacking, sipping sugary drinks, and not cleaning teeth well.

Our toothpaste utilizes coconut flour, silica, calcium carbonate, and baking soda to aid in removing plaque, debris, and surface stains. With regular and timely use (2+ times per day), our toothpaste can help maintain healthy oral hygiene by keeping your teeth clean.

It's also low-foaming due to its lack of any synthetic foaming detergents such as sodium lauryl sulfate or sodium lauroyl sarcosinate. Instead of these synthetic foaming detergents, we use potassium cocoate (made from organic coconut oil in a single-step process). While it has excellent cleansing properties, it doesn't foam as readily as synthetic foaming detergents. However, foam isn’t necessary for an effective toothpaste, though many consumers have been conditioned to expect it. We're very proud of our low-foaming toothpaste, as it means that we’ve formulated an effective toothpaste that contains no synthetic foaming detergents.

Although our toothpaste will not eliminate pre-existing cavities, our toothpaste offers a natural alternative to synthetic foaming agents and fluoride, while still helping remove plaque, whiten teeth, and soothe gums.

However, if you have any health concerns, we always recommend consulting with your dentist or physician, as they can help determine which products may be more suitable for your body.
