Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Dr. Bronner'sUpdated a year ago
Diversity, equity, and inclusion are important values at Dr. Bronner’s as we are all members of the All-One! family and Spaceship Earth where we are called on to create community and treat each other with acceptance, dignity, and respect. We adopt a spirit of humility and thankfulness for our situation and seek to learn from and celebrate and each other personally and professionally. It is always our duty to speak out against prejudice and wrongdoing where needed, helping to replace it with the attitude revealed in Dr. Bronner’s quote, “So, when your fellow man you measure, take him at his best: with that lever, lift him higher than the rest! For we’re All-One or None!”
All employees are called to practice acceptance, treat others with dignity and respect, learn from and celebrate each other’s differences, recognize one’s own privilege, root out one’s own and speak up against prejudice, and work to create a healthy and respectful workspace where colleagues feel valued and part of our community.
Dr. Bronner’s is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, or veteran status.
We’re committed to diversity at Dr. Bronner’s with 65.6% of our staff and 39% of our managers being black, indigenous, or People of Color in 2023. People of Color hold a variety of high-level positions, such as director and senior manager.
We believe that our workforce is largely reflective of the demographics of the North County San Diego community where we’re headquartered. With that being said, we’re always seeking to improve our processes and ensure a diverse workforce; to this end, we’ve been working with the JEDI Collaborative (Justice-Equity-Diversity-Inclusion) since 2019 as well as a DEI consultant (Diversity-Equity-Inclusion) to help ensure underrepresented individuals are included in the natural products industry at large.
Additionally, we strongly support LGBTQIA+ rights and focus on supporting LGBTQIA+ organizations in our home county of San Diego and home state of California especially, including: She Fest, San Diego LGBT Pride, Gender Blender, and Gender Illumination. Nationally we also support VINE Sanctuary in Vermont and Streetwork in NYC.
