Can the citric acid and sodium benzoate create benzene?Updated a year ago
Studies have shown that benzene formation may be a concern in consumer products when sodium benzoate is used in conjunction with ascorbic acid. The citric acid used in Sal Suds Biodegradable Cleaner*, is not an ascorbic acid. However, our Sal Suds formula was tested by a 3rd party laboratory for benzene to be sure and benzene was not detected.
*Sal Suds cleaner shows >60% biodegradation after 28 days per ISO 14593.
