Can I use a pump dispenser with the Sal Suds Biodegradable Cleaner?Updated a year ago
Due to our Sal Suds Biodegradable Cleaner* being very concentrated, it does not work well in pump dispensers. We have tested a variety of pumps and dilutions over the years with little success. Inevitably, the pumps always clog. Instead, we would recommend keeping the soap in its original bottle.
However, while our soaps do not work well with pump dispensers, they do work great in foaming dispensers!
Foaming dispensers “thicken” the soap with water and air. If you decide to use a foaming dispenser, make sure to dilute the soap at a ratio of 1 part soap to 6 parts water. This dilution doesn’t create the issues with clogging that undiluted soap would.
Suggested ratio example:
- 8 oz. bottle = 1 oz. soap and 6 oz. water
When using a foaming dispenser, we recommend diluting a portion that will be used up within 2 weeks to a month, since we do not add any harsh preservatives in our products that will allow them to last longer than 1 month after being diluted. Additionally, we recommend using distilled water as hard water can cause natural soap separation.
*Sal Suds cleaner shows >60% biodegradation after 28 days per ISO 14593.
