Can I use a pump dispenser with the Pure-Castile Magic Soap?Updated 3 hours ago

Due to our Pure-Castile Magic Soaps being very concentrated, they don't work well in standard or automatic pump dispensers. We've tested a variety of pumps and dilutions over the years with little success. Inevitably, the pumps always clog. Instead, we'd recommend keeping the soap in its original bottle and using just a drop or two for each handwashing, or for whatever use you prefer.

With that said, our Magic Soap does work great in manual foaming dispensers!

Foaming dispensers “thicken” the soap with water and air. If you decide to use a foaming dispenser, make sure to dilute the soap with water at a 1:3 ratio. This dilution doesn’t cause the clogging issues that undiluted soap would.

Suggested ratio example:

  • 8 oz. bottle = 2 oz. soap and 6 oz. water
  • 12 oz. bottle = 3 oz. soap and 9 oz. water

Just keep in mind that we only recommend diluting a portion of soap that will be used up within 2 weeks to 1 month, since we do not add any harsh preservatives to our products that would allow them to last longer than 1 month after dilution. Alternatively, dilutions with distilled water can last up to 6 months and even reduce natural soap separation that may occur with hard water.

If you prefer not to dilute your soap but still want to use a dispenser, we suggest trying our Organic Sugar Soaps. They don't encounter the same pump issues and even come with a pump dispenser. However, they're specifically formulated for use on the body and may not have the versatility of our Pure-Castile soaps.
