Are Dr. Bronner's products safe to use during pregnancy?Updated a month ago

Our body care products are made with simple, easy-to-pronounce ingredients. They contain no harsh synthetic chemicals or preservatives, such as parabens. This makes them a great option for those with certain sensitivities or who are pregnant.

Most pregnancy health concerns relate to using essential oils in products. Our products, including our soaps and balms, contain very low levels of essential oils. This makes it unlikely that significant amounts would enter your body. Also, the essential oils in our products are not ones you’re typically advised to avoid during pregnancy. We encourage you to check sites like Parents.com or Healthline.com for more information.

That said, our Arnica-Menthol Organic Magic Balm contains a much higher concentration of essential oils than our other products. Since it’s not a diluted or wash-off product, we advise those who are pregnant to consult a physician before use.

If you prefer to avoid essential oils, we strongly encourage you to try our unscented line, which is free of them.

Many of our product lines are also EWG verified. You can find the safety rating for all our products on the Environmental Working Group's (EWG) website.

Our toxicological safety assessments have not found concerns for use during pregnancy. However, we always recommend consulting your medical professional if you have personal health concerns or pregnancy-related experiences.
