Are ants drawn to the sugar in your soaps?Updated 10 days ago

While it's possible that ants can be drawn to the sweet smell of the organic sucrose used in our Organic Sugar Soap and Organic Shaving Soap, it's quite uncommon. If this does ever happen, it's likely due to the area or season being prone to ants. If you're experiencing ants around your soap, rest assured that the pump on our Sugar Soap and cap on our Shaving Soap are air-tight, preventing any insects from getting into your product.

If you live in an area prone to ants, you can avoid attracting them and other insects by ensuring the area around your soap is clean and free of any soap drips. You can also keep the product in a higher cabinet or shelf, or even transfer it into a container with a sealable cap.

Alternatively, you could try using our Pure-Castile Liquid Soap instead, as it does not contain any organic sucrose or white grape juice that can attract ants. In fact, our Pure-Castile Soaps can be used to make your own insecticidal spray. If you're interested in making this for yourself, check out Lisa Bronner’s blog post Castile Soap Garden Spray for a full walkthrough.
